Next week on September 28, New World will be launching. The developers have released launch details so players can explore Aeternum the second the game becomes available. In this article, let’s look at some top things that players must know before playing New World.
Weapons Experience
Both of your weapons will get experience for combat. If you want to level up a certain weapon quickly, then try to use that weapon exclusively, especially for things that aren’t as easy to level up, like the Life Staff, or for weapons that aren’t as powerful. Players progress in Weapon Mastery by gaining weapon Mastery points in battle, which scale with XP/enemy level. In New World, as players use a weapon, they get better with it.
Life Staff Is The Mounts
There are, unfortunately, no mounts in the game. But, there is a movement ability that’s available from the Life Staff called ‘Speed of Light’, which is useable every 20 seconds. The ‘Speed of Light’ skill will dart you forward 20 meters and is the single most efficient way to move quickly between towns outside of using Azoth to teleport.
Make More Coins
New World Coins are the standard form of currency across Aeternum. It is used in most common transactions. Players can most easily view their current coin count in the Player Inventory screen. It can be spent at Trading Posts to buy Housing or Respec Attributes. It is also spent along with repair through durability mechanics. Players may receive coins in many different ways. They can be given coins, they can complete missions, they can kill enemies, or they can sell items in the trading post. Know Coins worth!
Upgrade Crafting
Crafting is a core gameplay element in New World. There are multiple crafting skills that allow the player to combine gathered and refined resources to create consumables, weapons, apparel, and house furnishings. Leveling a crafting skill unlocks more recipes and more powerful versions of them. Unless you’re not interested in crafting in the slightest, but every player is capable of learning all of the crafting skills.
Playing The Trading Post
Trading Posts are locations in New World settlements that players can use to sell or buy items. You will find the Trading Post usually in the central area of the settlement. Many different items and orders are found there, which are posted by other players looking to sell items. Each city has its own unique trading post that is not connected to other cities. So you can buy in settlements with cheaper prices than other players and put up for sale and teleporting to whichever town had the Buy Order at a higher price. For example, let me buy nuts for only 0.10 coins each and be able to resell them for 10 coins each.
